Dear Friend of Choko
We look forward to sharing more details of the recent trip to South Africa, reporting back on the progress we saw there and discussing the new Choko project with you. We invite you to join us at the Choko Social at Cholsey School at 7:30pm on Tuesday 16 June. To whet your appetite, we will be sharing our photos and experiences from:
- Masekane School, which has now linked with Crowmarsh-Gifford School;
- Mamokaile School and their on-going link with Cholsey School;
- The Morabudi Centre for which we raised funds during 2008 for the building and equipment;
- Sponsored children and the effect sponsorship has on their lives and their community;
- Lafata Women's Enterprise Group, who are now totally independent but who Choko supported initially;
- The many and various activities in the Kodumela Area Development Programme compound – a grinding mill, goats, a dairy, a resource centre, a market and trading area;
- A visit to a child-headed household;
- The new rain-water harvesting project;
- And also some great photos from our pre-project time in the Kruger National Park!
We look forward to seeing you then!
